This post is about how  to open files using cmd.

Let’s go to discuss new topics.

How To Open Files Using cmd:

I will show you this topics by navigating folder. What are you waiting for? let’s go..

First,open cmd.exe

Then navigate which file you want to open.

Suppose I want to open a photo that is at picture library in my document folder on C drive.

So,to do that I have to go C drive directory. Let’s go.

Type

cd/

Now, I am on C dive. ok. Then I have to go desired files directory.

Type,

dir

Then ,I have to change and navigate users directory. Type

cd users

Then

dir

After that I have to go Jon ,it’s my document name

cd jon

then

dir

Yeah ! we got pictures folder. Now ,It’s time to open Pictures. Am I right?

type

cd pictures

type

dir

See,there are lots of images.

Just type your picture file name . Such as, here, I want to open mymeetbook.png

So, I have to type

mymeetbook.png

mymeetbook.png will be appeared.

In, this way, We can open any file. Let’s open video file

My video file is on F drive. So I have to go F  drive directory from current directory.

So I have to type just,

f:

Then navigate folder.

dir

Then you see  lots of folder directory.

I found my video folder directory.

Now, go to this directory.

cd video

then

dir

In here I found my desired video that I want to open

Then type your video file name

See, my video opened.

In this way you can open any text file. Suppose ,I want to open mymeetbook.txt that I kept on desktop.

So, what to do? I have to switch to drive directory from current directory.

Type

c:

It was my previous location in c dive. I have to go to my document named jon. Because desktop is on jon so type

cd..

then type

dir

See, There is desktop directory. Now I want to navigate files directory on desktop.

type

cd desktop

then

dir

Now, just type your text file. I typed

mymeetbook.txt

My text got opened.

in this way, We can open any files.

Remember : This tricks or techniques , you can only apply when you folder name has not any space.

Such as

There is no space in folder name. So , you can apply this technique.

But,

Here, there are spaces in folder name. So you can not apply this.

If your folder name has space that has another  techniques that i will show you next post.
